Ride with GPS

Michael Gold

Hi,
I need help. I have been trying to edit some of the uploaded club routes to have me leave from home rather than from Greenlawn or Breezy. I have found the edit button but still having loads of difficulty. Any suggestions or insight? Any assistance will be appreciated since I can't navigate accurately beyond my driveway. Hope everyone is well. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Mike

Hi Michael,

When you go into Edit mode, you should see a green pinpoint for the ride start location. You should be able to click on and drag that start location to your home. As you do this, the ride’s route will automatically adjust to the new start location. You can add new intermediate “control points” between your home and the Greenlawn lot or Breezy Park as you wish.

Stay well,
Jeff E

Hi
Thanks. I can shift the start point but how do you delete segments of the route that you don’t want ( e.g.  my house to Greenlawn)?

When you’re in Edit mode, hopefully, you will see all of the “control points” (the circles) along the route. They can be dragged to whatever location you like.

Look obviously you’re technologically challenged, either find an eleven year old kid or do what I’d do..... move to Greenlawn 🚴‍♂️😷🤟

Tried that. I haven’t had any luck with it getting rid of segments. I’ll play with it and keep trying. Thanks for your help.

Both excellent suggestions.. thanks. I was wondering when you were going to resurface. Apparently, my profound inability to draw lines and circles woke you up. You good?

Here is a handy way to adjust any route.  In Edit mode, on the right side Overview you would select Add/Remove Control.  You would then remove all course points in between the area that you want to change.  Once you are set up between the two course points just drag at it will adjust.  Creating routes are easy so I think that is is a good idea to start a new route from your house.  Take some ideas from existing routes.  You can use two separate monitors,   look at a Strava route on your phone for help etc.   Mike you can call me if you like.  I can also have a zoom meeting with you to give you some tips.

I am pretty sure that if you copy a club route to your personal (free) library, you can edit it.

I thought Michael  was going  to  get an 11 year old to do that? Is that  the  club policy?
