Ride Calendar Registrations

John Greene

All HBC members,

It has come to my attention that there are quite a few members who sign up online for a ride and do not show up for that ride.

When you do this, you take a spot away from someone else who wants to go on that ride but can't because you did not cancel your registration.

A  list of the repeat offenders.(I'm sure you know who you are) will be provided to all ride leaders who have been instructed to not allow you on any further rides even for one more failure to cancel your ride registration.

Again, by not taking the time to cancel you are taking away a valuable spot from another member.

As you know we have a limit of 12 per ride including the leader and sweep so that leaves only 10 available registrations.

Please follow the rules and do not let us have to prohibit you from riding with the club.

Glad this issue is being addressed. We are supposed to be adults here.

Can’t we cancel the advance sign-up for rides now? I don’t go on rides at all with HBC because of the advance sign-up requirements. Kim

Due to Covid protocols and ride management issues(too many people create a safety and logistical concern) the club now requires advance registration on all rides.Preregistration is no different than deciding on going on a ride you like. All we ask is to show some courtesy and cancel your registration in the event you can't make it.

EHi John,

Is your  Century ride at capacity? If needed, I can volunteer to lead  a 3rd group  (A , A+ or AA).  Same destination

Carlos
