Sticky HBC Groups.io Email Policy
HBCEmail Moderator
Just as a reminder the HBC Groups.io email group emails should only be biking related emails. I know these are strange times and we are all experiencing unusual feelings and thoughts. People want to reach out to each other with concerns about what is going on. However, lets keep this HBC email system emails about biking related topics only. Users who violate this policy will be removed from the system. The HBC club members appreciate everyone’s cooperation. |

Good point. I gather people can share on the HBC website about biking related issues and the obvious about what's happening in the world today as we all care about each other and want to be supportive.

See, this is serious stuff. Follow the guidelines. Sooner we all fall in line, the sooner this will all be over. John -------- Original message --------

President sighting, Tuesday, March 24th in Kings Park around 4:00 PM.
No, not that guy. It was Bill Nimmo and his wife out for a plenty afternoon
bike ride. I was returning from Long Beach and St James on a ride with a friend.
We were all keeping to the max rider requirement of two, and keeping our
physical distance.
I encountered a dozen of more individual riders out there Tuesday and again
last Friday on a Stony Brook ride. It’s good to see cyclists out; and especially
during these times of minimal auto traffic.
As long as our emails are cycling related, it would be nice to hear more
notes like this of your excursions.
Stay well and be safe at there,
Rich Meyer

I’m curious where that group was from and how many riders, I’ll check STRAVA when I get a chance to see who was riding if I can. If I know anyone I’ll ask about it. I rode 33 miles yesterday in the Roslyn/Syosset/Woodbury areas. Was supposed to be just me and a friend for 55 years from HS. But 2 others showed up. We stayed so far apart the 3-4 cops we came across probably didn’t know we were a group. Especially me falling way back on the hills and an A+ rider way up front. Saw a pretty surprising amount of riders out many singles and groups of 2 riders. Maybe a 3. Also saw dozens of riders, runners and someone walking their dog on STRAVA. A few from the HBC. I’d like to hear others that have been riding, hiking or walking their dogs.
