Tour of the Battenkill May 7th

Angel Perez

Hi everyone,

I had been meaning to send this info out weeks ago. I have signed up for a ride that I had been eyeing for over 10 years. It's the Tour of the Battenkill https://tourofthebattenkill.com/. It used to be a pro-race attached to a grand fondo. Now only the gran fondo remains. Many call it the America's Queen of the Classics as it has gravel roads packed into the ride. In the 75 mile ride I believe it may be close to 15 miles on gravel. It really looks like fun and registration will go up after April 11th. I have already booked an AirBnB that has room for 2 more if someone would like to crash. The room is about a 3 miles from the start. However, since I was traveling alone I did not splurge on myself, so it is a walkup apt. There is a twin bed and a futon available.  If you want something nicer you will have to find something in Saratoga Springs.  Also, the ride is Mother's Day weekend so I plan to drive up Friday, ride on Saturday and drive back down at the crack of dawn to get to the HBC ride on Sunday (Ok, maybe I'll make it home before I loose more points).

Happy riding!

Angel Perez

Mother's day.... right. I ask myself, what were they thinking?

If I would guess, perhaps they thought that the Battenkill event is the mother of all fondo tours?

Hi Angel,

Do you still have space in your airbnb? Not certain if I'll go, however if I do I would ride part of the course perhaps about 40 miles after the race takes off.  Is carpooling with you and option?  thanks, James

James,

Email me directly at zerepocrat@.... Don't want to start a chain of our back and forth.

Frank,  at this point in my fitness, I will meet you at the after party.

Too all the other comedians, it's a shame the Carol Burnett Show is off the air, you could have written her some great one liners.
