>>> A "Goat Ride" challenge to the whole club! <<<
Harvey Miller
Inspired by the "Huntington Beach-Caumsett" ride in the HBC Ride With GPS [RWGPS] listings because it was the hilliest ride listed, per mile, originating at the Smith Street lot, I tweaked it a bit and thereby created what is, so far, the hilliest club ride in Suffolk County. It averages 81.317 feet per mile for 38.7 miles for a total of 3,147 feet elevation. Note, to qualify as the HBC Suffolk Goat King, the ride has to be between 35-40 miles, originate from the Smith Street lot, and no part of the route should go over the same road more than twice. I propose to the club authorities that this ride and any ride that beats the specs on the current "champ" (the link to it is below this message) be placed in a new Collections location labelled "Suffolk Goat Ride Champ" and in our club's current RWGPS listing of rides, with the word "GOAT" in its title. And, any ride that beats the current leader, all within the specs listed above, be crowned the current champ, deleting the old ones or labelled the current champ. The RWGPS link, at this time, can be found at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38792372 |

Let’s do it during ride season, but no electric bikes.

I totally agree. You're not to do it on an electric bike!
