Bloomin’ Metric COVID-19 Update
Dear Members of the Bloomin’ Metric Community:
We at Sound Cyclists have held the Bloomin’ Metric bicycle tour each year for more than 40 years, and truly appreciate your support during that time. Last year we were forced to cancel our ride for the first time. This year scheduling the Bloomin’ has been similarly challenging.
As a result of the spike in Covid cases of the Delta variant, we have decided to cancel the 2021 Bloomin’ Metric and make every effort to hold the 2022 Bloomin’ tentatively on May 22, 2022.
Please appreciate that this decision did not come easily, but we are mindful of the health and safety of our riders and volunteers and would not risk an infection spread at the event. Additionally, we are at the point where we need to make a significant financial commitment, and with the continued uptrend in Covid cases and hospitalizations, we are concerned the State or local governments could impose restrictions at the last minute that would make holding our event impractical.
We value the continued loyalty of each person who has ever come to ride the Bloomin’ look forward to seeing you at the 2022 Bloomin’ Metric.
