Also many groups of different sizes I couldn’t identify. About 4-5 riders said hello to me in passing.I know out in Suffolk the SBRA had 11 scheduled rides today and only 5 tomorrow because today was the better day.My point here is being the only bike club on Long Island without scheduled rides isn’t working.Maybe it works for those that secretly organize rides via email that eliminates the rest of the club members works for that select few.Basically in my view anyone planning to go out to the lot to try to join a ride will most likely be riding solo. Be prepared with extra tubes and CO2I don’t understand why the HBC is the only club on LI without scheduled rides and probably in the Metropolitan area as well. What do we know that no other club doesn’t seem to understand?Gerry

Hi. I was one of the other groups that you probably couldn't identify. I saw you on Center Island today. Matt was wearing the HBC Jersey, and I yelled out HBC.
Yes, I led an NYCC ride to Center Island today because I'm not going to drive all the way out to Huntington and find that there is no ride or no riders showing up at my level. Show n go doesnt work for me so although I would prefer to ride with HBC, I make other more definite plans.

My understanding these emails are for club members only, I could be wrong about that. The FB page has a lot of people following that are not club members and if all this is true I don’t want to publicly air our dirty laundry.Gerry

I’ve been a club member on and off for a number of years and have never gone on a group ride yet. I thought this year I would take the leap but so far HBC has just been a social club. I will not wait around all week for a possible meet up in a parking lot.
I want to know where, how fast and how far I’m going in advance. Even SBRA B+, A-and A riders are doing their own organizing because of all the new rules. If you’re uncomfortably riding in a group, ride solo or stay home. I have no interest in using Facebook to look for rides. HBC has a website use it. Just another opinion.
