Also FYI…

I haven’t done this ride since pre-COVID and I think I missed this one the most, rain notwithstanding! I would certainly be up for returning to Lancaster County this summer.

The 2023 Covered Bridge Classic Registration is open.

During this time of rapid inflation, we are pleased that we are able to keep the same $45 registration cost as last year.  The 44th annual Covered Bridge Classic will be held Sunday August 20, 2023.

Last year we hosted 1350 riders with 120 volunteers.  We had seven different start locations which also served as rest stops.  Food, rest rooms and maintenance were provided at each stop.  We received donations from 23 different organizations, three major sponsors and two local bike shops

426 post ride survey responses told us:

·       76% preferred the multiple start locations over the mass start of prior years.

·       96% said they felt safe regarding routes and road choices.   We improved our road markings.  Comments show that we need to have more safety support at busy intersections.

·       90% said they were satisfied with our food offerings and 65% said they were happy with our lunch distribution.

The club just awarded $29,000 in grants and donations for cycling related projects in Lancaster County.  This is possible because of your support of this event.  We hope you will join us this year.

Because of the positive feedback received, we are hosting the same format as last year.  We will have the same seven parking and start locations.  Registration will be closed when we run out of parking capacity.  You will be asked to specify "riding", "carpooling" or "parking" at the event during the registration process so that we can manage our parking capacity.

Your registration fee includes well stocked rest stops with food, water, Gatorade, SAG and mechanical support, well marked routes, printable paper cues,  downloadable GPX files and more.

We will have added a 4th distance to choose from: 100 miles, 66 miles, 50 miles, and 34 miles.
